How To Make a Doll School

how to make a doll school

1. Start by making a doll house at least 5 feet tall. and 4 feet wide. Use wooden planks to make each room (like the main classroom, the lockers and the gym. use three wood planks)

2. Classroom:  get ordinary classroom materials: a whiteboard and dry-erase markers can be bought at a dollar store, mini crayons, paint sets with small brushes, mini pens etc. Don't forget desks, online at american girl they are $42, which isn't too bad, or you can make tables. (that's best if you have more than one doll). Also add book shelves and make books with cardboard and stickers. (mini dolls that come with books are perfectly sized). Also add a teachers desk and chair, on that you might want to add a pretend pencil sharpener, some pencils and sheet work. (on crayola.com they have tons of sheet work. just shrink it down). Also add the teacher's name on a small board. For extras use small plastic containers (like reusable salad dressing ones) and fill them with doll sized pencils, broken crayons and colored pencils, etc., add signs on the wall (and paint the wall a fun color too!) like "read" or math numbers, alphabet banner. When you go to school this year be sure to look around the classroom. Also use mini plastic containers to hold things like scrap notebook paper, more crayons, paint etc.

3. Locker room:  Make each doll a locker! You can make lockers by using old shoes boxes. Use a tack for a backpack/ jacket hanger. Decorate the side to the door with pictures of the doll, and things she likes. If she likes sports draw soccer balls, or things like "go team go!". If she is a cheerleader use yarn pom-poms and attach a rubber band to it for pom pom's. You can add a shelf by using a small piece of cardboard and hot gluing or glue it to the top. Add books, binders and notebooks to the top shelf.

4. Gym: Make a team banner with cardboard or construction paper, write on there in the school colors things like "Go Vikings Go!" (Vikings=school mascot), add a basket ball score board and basketball hoops. Bleachers can be just ordinary chairs. Add a drawing of a school mascot.

5. Cafeteria: Make pretend food with play-doh or polymer clay and use cardboard to make trays. Make long tables with wood or cardboard, with chairs. Add wall posters with things like "eat salad for a healthy life!" and add a food pyramid. Make a buffet line by using cardboard, duct tape and a old ruler/ yard stick.

I'll make a video about how to make the whole entire school including the doll house!!! Coming soon bye!
